The best way to characterise a fiber optic plant is with an OTDR instrument; in order to achieve an accurate and reliable measurement it is necessary to use a launching fiber.
The fiber is coiled and placed in a small case which is strong yet lightweight, watertight and dust and crush proof (IP67); there is also an automatic pressure equalization valve.
Both single or double fiber cases are available, with the same or different type of fiber; the length can be defined by the client (up to 4000mt); the fanout leg is 2.5m long at either end and can be connectorised with the most common types of connector. There are no splices along the launching fiber.
